Volume 1 is 558 pages in length, and Volume 2 is 552 pages in length. It is a sequel to the 2007/2008 book The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide.

A box set will be released on September 24, 2024.

It is an English translated version of the 2021 book Pokémon All Character Encyclopedia.

Blurb

Over 900 pages of Pokémon! Each book in this two-volume set is filled with descriptions and stats, including Abilities, Moves, and Evolutions. Includes 898 Pokémon

Entries

The entries for the Pokémon are structured in an easy-to-read page setup. Each Pokémon has either an entire page to itself or shares a page with another member of its evolutionary family.

Each entry is topped with a large box containing the Pokémon's name.

Stock artwork of each Pokémon is the main focus of its entry page. Additional artwork of it is shown below. Unlike other guidebooks, The Complete Pokémon Pocket Guide uses artwork from the Pokémon Dream World rather than the anime.

The sidebar of each entry contains the following stats:

The pages also have two descriptions taken from actual Pokédex entries from the games. Some descriptions contain an asterisk and footnotes to explain terms of measurement and Pokémon on other pages. At least three moves appear under the "Special Moves" section.

At the very bottom of the entry there are evolution chains to show the Pokémon's evolutionary family. Pokémon that do not evolve or have not yet been revealed to evolve has an arrow pointing to the Pokémon stating "Does Not Evolve".

Other content

The end of each volume contains a section detailing major Poké Balls, as well as "Trainer notes" for the owner to fill out and an alphabetical index of the included 898 Pokémon.

Errors

  • In the first volume:
    • On Primal Kyogre's page, the graphic showing Kyogre changing into this form displays Groudon's name.
